The team were called after two walkers were benighted on Graig Ddu above Cwm Amarch whilst descending from Cadair Idris. Having strayed from the Minffordd Path, the pair found themselves on steep ground with only a mobile phone for light and were unsure of their location or route to safety.
Using location information provided by the walkers, team members were able to identify their position and provide navigation advice over the phone, guiding them towards a nearby farm.
Due to low phone battery levels and the risk of losing communication, a local team member was deployed to intercept the pair and assist them to safety. Once off the hill, the walkers were transported back to Minffordd Car Park without further incident.
