Man airlifted from Dolgoch Falls following knee injury

Thurs 16thAugust A morning hike took a dramatic turn when an 18 year old man slipped on a muddy bank and injured his knee on the slopes above Dolgoch Falls, a popular walk south of Cadair Idris. The incident was attended by an ambulance crew and volunteers from Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team, who prepared the casualty for a stretcher rescue. This was put on hold when a Rescue Helicopter from RAFValley attended the scene, and effected a difficult winching operation in the tight tree-lined river valley. The casualty was flown to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth to receive treatment for his injuries.
