At around 2:00 p.m. the Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team (ASART) was alerted to a 52 year-old woman with a suspected broken ankle on the path leading to King’s Youth Hostel from the Cregennen Lakes near Dolgellau. Passing walkers had offered assistance to the woman and her partner until the ASART party arrived. The woman, living locally at Trawsfynydd, was transferred to a stretcher and evacuated off the hillside where waiting vehicles transferred to couple back to their car. Having opted to seek further medical attention under their own steam, the couple headed off to hospital themselves. Everyone was safely off the hill by 5:00 p.m.
