At 11:49am on Wednesday 30 September, Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team was contacted after personal belongings were discovered in a quarry near Dinas Mawddwy, raising concerns that someone may have been in difficulty.
Team members attended the location to investigate and carried out a thorough search of the area. The discarded items were located and examined, but no persons were found and no evidence suggested that anyone required assistance. Further enquiries established that the clothing had in fact been present at the location for over a week.
The incident was subsequently closed as a false alarm with good intent.
