At 1:50pm on Monday 7 September, Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team was alerted following concerns for an elderly couple who appeared to be at risk on muddy ground near Glandyfi.

Due to the potential hazards associated with tidal mudflats, the incident was referred to the Coastguard, with team members remaining on standby to assist if required.

As further information became available, it appeared that the couple had moved away from the tidal area and towards nearby woodland. Team members carried out checks of likely routes but were unable to locate the pair.

Following consultation between the emergency services, it was concluded that the couple had continued safely on their journey and that no assistance was required.
