Couple lost on Dyfi Marshes

Callout date: July 4, 2016

Shortly after midnight, Team call handlers received a request to help North Wales and Dyfed Powys police forces in the search for a couple lost on the marshes adjacent to the River Dyfi, which forms the border between the two forces. The couple had set out walking earlier in the evening, but found themselves benighted with no real idea of their location. As plans were being drawn up for the Team’s deployment, the missing pair reported that they were able to see the blue lights of an Officer patrolling the road north of the river, and with their location calculated, the couple were picked up by railway staff. The Team was therefore not deployed.
