Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team was called after a father and son abandoned their climb of Cyfrwy Arete when the son’s insulin pump ran out of insulin, causing concerns about rising blood sugar levels and the potential development of a hyperglycaemic episode.
Following telephone assessment and location confirmation, team members monitored the pair remotely while specialist medical advice was sought. The father safely descended with his son to Ty Nant car park to meet with team members deployed to assist.
