The Team was contacted by North Wales Ambulance Service, who requested assistance in attending to a walker on the Ffordd Ddu, an ancient trackway running across the headland west of Cadair Idris. The casualty, a member of a Duke of Edinburgh award group, had succumbed to the effects of the weather whilst on expedition. The hot, humid conditions, linked with the physical demands of a heavy rucsac had caused the onset of Heat Stroke, a potentially very serious condition. Whilst team members were mobilizing the Helimed helicopter was able to reach the site and assess the casualty. Cooled and treated with sufficient fluids she made a quick recovery and stayed with members of the expedition supervising staff.
