Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday 13th April, a request for rope-tech assistance was placed by South Snowdonia Seach & Rescue Team to help in the rescue of an injured male in Coed y Brenin forest. The man had taken a significant fall into a river gully and sustained serious injuries. In an operation involving the Air Ambulance, Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics and the Coastguard helicopter R187, the man was stabilised, then winched from a very difficult position for onward transport to a critical care facility. Aberdyfi volunteers helped set up a rope system to provide a safe exit for around 10 medical responders at the casualty site in the bottom of a gorge. Everyone was back at vehicles by 7:45 p.m.
