At around 1:20 p.m. call handlers from the Team were made aware of a request from the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust (WAST) to assist in dealing with an injured motorcyclist. Conflicting reports about the casualty’s location (which also fell into the operating regions of other Teams) meant that the Ogwen Valley and South Snowdonia Teams were already out eliminating some of the suggested positions. As Aberdyfi volunteers made their way to join the incident, they were informed that WAST had treated the casualty, and the Team was stood down. Just after 10:00 p.m., the Team was again contacted in regard to overdue walkers on Cader Idris. The 3 men were taking part in a Welsh 3-peaks attempt, and had completed Snowdon, but had failed to check in by phone having started on Cader Idris. While a Team call-handler discussed options with North Wales Police, they conducted a search of automatic number plate recognition files. The car was logged as being in the Brecon area, in the vicinity of the final peak, Pen y Fan. As such the incident was transferred to the Brecon Teams, and Aberdyfi was stood down.
