At around 3.30 p.m. on Sunday 17th April, call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a woman near the summit of Cadair Idris with a lower leg injury. The woman, from nearby Bontddu on the Mawddach Estaury, was part of a group of four adults and four children who had climbed the mountain that morning. The party had just begun their descent and were on the ridge between the summit of Cadair Idris and Mynedd Moel when the lady slipped and injured her ankle. Given the location of the casualty, assistance from the Coastguard Helicopter was requested, and five volunteers from the Team were airlifted to the scene. The injured lady was flown to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, for further assessment and treatment, while the rest of the party was escorted off the mountain by Team members. Other volunteers from the Team made their way up on foot to assist in the descent, and all parties were off the mountain by 7:30 p.m.
