At around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday 14th March, Team call-handlers were requested to asssist in an ongoing search for a missing person near Dinas Mawddwy, Powys. The missing person, an 89 year old woman, left the house at 05:30 a.m. the same day and had not been seen since. Family and friends from the local farming community had been out searching, and subsequently the search involved Police helicopters and drones. The Team was requested to help conduct a search of the nearby river. A SARDA Wales trailing dog was also requested to try and follow the lady’s movements. At around 11:30, neighbours reported seeing a body in the river and this was recovered to the shore by police officers. Team volunteers already on scene were able to provide water support to the recovery, and to assist in carrying the casualty up a steep and slippery field to the roadside.
