Seizure at Dolgoch Falls

At around 6:00 p.m. the Team was requested to assist the Welsh Ambulance Service in locating and accessing a woman experiencing seizures in the woods above Dolgoch Falls near Tywyn. With only an outline description of the whereabouts of the woman, a number of small hill parties were deployed to search likely locations and a team member escorted WAST crew up the path in anticipation of quick find. The casualty was quickly located and assessed by the ambulance crew who requested an urgent evacuation. Assistance from the Coastguard helicopter, R936, was requested and granted, and a suitable landing site was identified by the Team near to the Casualty location. The casualty was carried by stretcher to the landing zone and flown to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth for further assessment and treatment. A member of the Casualties party was escorted down by Team volunteers, and everyone was off the hill by 8:15 p.m.
